Services

Haley’s Hope is dedicated to assisting students in all academic areas through our comprehensive dyslexia learning center.

Dyslexia causes difficulty with reading and spelling, however it also effects reading comprehension, math, and writing. Challenges with maintaining academic demands often become debilitating.

Haley’s Hope extensively uses the Orton-Gillingham approach for the multiple learning needs of the each student. Lesson plans are designed with the Orton-Gillingham approach to meet students at their level by managing instruction delivered to their individual strengths and weaknesses.

Students with dyslexia need additional help in organizing and identifying the simple materials of language for reasoning and application. Elements of language that non-dyslexic learners easily develop must be taught through a direct and systematic approach.

Literacy

Youth and adult literacy

Haley’s Hope offers one-on-one tutoring that greatly improves reading, spelling and writing of children and adults with dyslexia. We ensure this success through our certified and skillful coaches who methodically instruct with the Barton Reading and Spelling System, a proven Orton-Gillingham approach.

Individuals with dyslexia need this one-on-one help so they can move forward at their own pace. Our coaches teach, build esteem, give immediate positive and corrective feedback, and develop skills and confidence. They create an environment of reading success instilling confidence and alleviating the obstacles typically associated with dyslexia.

Our student’s improvements are seen and measurable.

Ideally, dyslexia is caught in grades K-2, but many of our students are in higher grades. Some are adults. It is never too late to learn how to read and write.

Students come to our private classrooms and learn directly from their personal coach, moving at their individual pace. Our center is located in West Fargo, ND, with satellites in Grand Forks, ND and Mahnomen, MN.

We also offer remote sessions to further reach families in outlying communities who are not able to consistently travel to our centers.

Caring Haley’s Hope coaches are here to work with your schedule, tutoring during and after the school day and throughout the summer months. It is critical students work consistently year-round for continued growth.

Two sessions per week of 50 minutes are recommended for best results.

Since 2011, we’ve helped over 1200 individuals get back on track. We look forward to helping more students reach their true potential with the ability to read and write!

Individual Education Plan (IEP) and 504 Plan

Haley’s Hope provides assistance to parents to guide strategies for dyslexic students to access curricula and become stronger at learning independently through their Individual Education Plans (IEP) or 504 Plan developments. We’ll prepare you with information, help you understand anything that’s unclear, even attend IEP and 504 Plan meetings for support and guidance.

This support includes suggestions for accommodations and modifications to curricula allowing each student the ability to achieve the same learning objective while working on increasing their strengths and overcoming their weaknesses.

Teachers and schools aren’t to blame when students with dyslexia can’t keep pace. Nor are moms, dads or children themselves; we can all be partners at new approaches.

We strive to create a circle of support between all individuals involved in a student’s educational years. Adopting life-changing techniques to overcome dyslexia takes patience and understanding. However, by working together we’re all rewarded when we see better self-esteem and improved grades for students.

Multi-Sensory Mathematics: Youth

Genuine Math intervention, NOT homework help.

Haley’s Hope provides a true intervention for math skills that will fill gaps in your child’s mathematical understanding. This intervention IS NOT designed to navigate ongoing math homework.

Your student will discover the significance of understanding the 'language of math' while engaging in foundational skills. Students increase confidence in general math concepts by building individual skills through our CRA (Concrete, Representational, and Abstract) learning approach.

Based on the Orton Gillingham teaching methodology, this math intervention benefits all students but is critical for students with dyslexia.

Our program is…

  • For students with a Language-Based Learning Disability

  • Grades 2 to 8

  • 1:1 student-to-teacher ratio

  • Self-paced, personalized lesson plans based on student needs.

“I finally understand what division means and how to do it on my own.”

Invest in your child’s future and prepare them for a more successful and productive school year!

“I would definitely recommend Haley’s Hope. Aia used to struggle with reading and even though she still doesn’t enjoy it, her skills are so much stronger. This summer program helped expand her toolbox even further and gave her more confidence. Not to mention, this is the first time she has ever said she loved school. I would recommend applying just for the confidence boost alone! It’s a way of learning that works for their minds, which makes a huge difference.”
